We think Pathfinder mentorship is a strong opportunity for impact, as it allows you to guide and support the development of the next generation of university AI safety groups.

Am I a good fit?

We're looking for mentors with:

Previous experience organizing a university group, typically at least 1 year.

Strong interest in mentorship.

Reliability and good communication skills.

Details

Commitment

  • Attend the Pathfinder kickoff call on August 15, or watch the recording if this isn't possible.
  • Be available for three weekly hour-long calls with your mentee.
  • After these initial calls, continue to meet with your mentee monthly or bimonthly according to preference.
  • Attend ~monthly 30-min check-in calls with the Kairos team.

Expectations

  • Do your best to be available at times that work for your mentee.
  • Show up prepared and on time for mentorship calls, and make sure your mentee does the same.
  • Be encouraging, supportive, and warm to your mentee.

Compensation

  • $100 USD for the first three calls
  • $300 USD for continuing through the semester
